Happy Fourth of July!

June 29, 2020

,

Celebrating the 4th of July this year may certainly be much different from last year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have the most fun with your friends and family – safely, of course!

Most major cities and towns across the nation have cancelled their usual 4th of July festivities this year. Many cities are going virtual – including West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Lake Worth!  In order to promote the public’s health and safety, the cities are promoting a DIY 4th of July to inspire your own at-home celebration. You can find fun tips, activities, crafts, recipes and live-streaming of fireworks on most of their municipal websites.

The city of West Palm Beach plans to host fireworks in two undisclosed locations on the 4th of July that will be live-streamed across local news channels.

But if you’re looking for a few fun ways to celebrate during the day, here’s some of my favorite ideas I’ve put together for you:

Camp Out In Your Backyard

It’s definitely getting hotter by the day here in Florida, but the night breezes are still enjoyable to host a camp out under the stars in your own backyard! You can make s’mores, tell stories and maybe even get some small sparklers to celebrate!

Make Some Tasty Cool Treats

Summer in Florida is the perfect time to make homemade treats that will cool you down! Find some easy recipes for easy homemade popsicles and other ice treats. You can use fresh fruits and have fun brewing your own natural flavored ice-teas and lemonades!

Create A Water Park At Home

If some tasty ice cream isn’t enough to cool down, you can get creative at home with your own water parkBetween sprinklers, hose extensions and some kiddie pools, you can create a fantastic playground for everyone to enjoy!

Picnic Adventures

If you can venture outdoors a bit, you can find a safe area like a state park, empty baseball field or a quiet spot to enjoy. Maybe take a bike ride through your neighborhood and find a cool spot under a tree for lunch. Pack a light picnic with refreshments and set off to enjoy some time together!

Take A Historical Virtual Tour

You can celebrate the holiday with a fun education piece that everyone from every generation can appreciate! Many of the nation’s best museums are offering free virtual tours of their outstanding exhibits including the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, The Museum of Flight and The American Battlefield Tours.
