The Honda Classic Returns to Palm Beach Gardens

February 6, 2020

It’s safe to say that Palm Beach County could be considered the golf capital of South Florida. Some of the finest clubs and courses reside right here in our local communities. It has also become the home to several professional Tour events including the PGA Champions and LPGA Tours which have both hosted tournaments locally in Boca Raton.

But undoubtedly the most notorious golf tournament is the Honda Classic which has found its home at the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens since 2007. And now the top international players will again compete here in our backyard for a $6.9 million purse February 24-March 1, 2020.

You don’t have to be a golfer or even a golf fan to get in on the fun during that week!  In fact, some say that the Honda Classic is actually a big party with a side of some amazing golf. The tournament hosts concerts at the resort on Friday and Saturday nights, along with a spectacular fireworks show. The Honda Classic 5K also takes place Saturday, Feb 1 with an exclusive experience that takes participants through the picturesque course.

On the course during tournament rounds, the Waterford Club adjacent to the 17th green offers premium stadium seating and mixed drinks and the Goslings Bear Trap features direct sightlines to the “Bear Trap” holes. Don’t forget to stop by the Lilly Pulitzer Lounge to catch a front row seat to the golf action on the 10th hole in their pop-up lounge/shop.

West Palm Beach native and current world number one player, Brooks Koepka has committed to playing this year’s tournament and you can also expect to see other local favorites join in the field. The Honda Classic brings together fans and players from around the world to our beloved city. Don’t miss your opportunity to be a part of this special week!
